During BIMUN 2026, procedural tension broke out on the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) floor when the President of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) made an unannounced entry to confront the Rwandan delegate. The UNSC President demanded that Rwanda address unverified security and state-sponsored terrorism allegations brought by the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). In response, the UNDP Executive Board intervened, calling the UNSC President to order for breaching committee decorum, lacking verified evidence, and exceeding committee jurisdiction. The Dais firmly halted the exchange, re-establishing that developmental committees focused on economic sustainability and structural aid cannot be turned into trial courts for geopolitical disputes.

During a Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Committee (SOCHUM) debate on xenophobia as a political tool, Denmark confronted South Africa over the systemic displacement of legal foreign workers and lingering regional tensions. Confronted over executive silence regarding violent anti-immigrant attacks, the South African delegation admitted on record that the presidency was "too busy" to issue an official statement. The defense sparked immediate backlash across the committee floor, placing South Africa under heightened pressure to ensure state accountability and defend migrant rights.
